《FreeSteps – Swinging Years》
FreeSteps-Swinging Years is a performance project led by Taiwanese choreographer SU Wei-chia that first began in 2013. By making audience participation an element of the work, SU seeks to discover new forms of movement and provide a fresh experience in the contemporary dance world. The project has developed over the years and once included collaborations with a group of 100 senior citizens, who were encouraged to translate their life experiences into dance movements. The latest iteration features a group of 10 elderly dancers, and is accompanied by a “Dance and Jam” session, which invites us to take to the stage and “swing freely.”

HORSE
HORSE is an award-winning contemporary dance troupe founded in 2004 by CHEN Wu-kang and SU Wei-chia. The group’s Chinese name, which contains three symbols denoting their animal-inspired moniker, implies “”strong motivation”” and “”explosive energy.”” CHEN and SU have long maintained a practice of experimentation involving movement, visual elements and sound through a monthly session called “”Primal Chaos.”” Their accolades include a Taishin Arts Award, Taiwan’s most prestigious dance and theater prize, for Velocity (2008), and the Kurt Jooss Prize in Germany for 2 Men (2013).
