SHE, a work Yeh has been developing since 2020, is a dialogue with iconic female dancers throughout history. Mixing live performance, recorded images and archival footage, Yeh sets up a space for the dancer to respond to the work of artists such as prima ballerina assoluta Margot Fonteyn and Yu Rong- Ling, the first Chinese person to receive a dance education in Europe. SHE can be presented in a variety of formats, whether as a lecture/performance, film, exhibition, or installation and theater presentation.
About
Dancer and choreographer Yeh Ming- Hwa, a native of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, received her BFA in dance from Taipei National University of Arts in 2006. Her major works include Nordic (2015), which was about the power of nature, commissioned by Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, and The House Behind The Wall (2020), which took place at a renovated residence of the architect Wang Da-Hong, and won the Taishin Arts Award in2021
